Hey warriors. I am back again today with another Products I Regret Buying blog post. I decided to share something that I thought was a blush but looks more like a high lighter on my face. Just an FYI this is 100% my honest opinion which could be different from yours. But however, this is my blog and all I ask is some respect of my thoughts. The product I am sharing today is ELF'S Baked Blush in Pinktastic.
I want to say first off when I bought this I thought the look of it was just a design and I thought it was actually a pink shade. Normally, I would do research before I buy any product which is why I don't have many products I regret buying. But, my friend told me about these and said she saw them and thought of me so I had to try one. Normally I would read the packaging but the front made me think "Oh ok it's a baked blush so it could be a design". So I took it home to swatch it and realized it was more as a highlighter than anything. This is totally not a blush towards my skin tone. It looked so sheer yet had a glow to it that I had to take it off. I tend to lean more towards pinks and dark shades when it comes to blush. I later found out this was being used as a highlighter on most people which I don't regret buying it as a highlighter, I regret buying it as a blush...
As you can tell the design does come off more of a highlighter than a blush but I couldn't help the gorgeousness this blush had. I am pretty bummed considering I was gonna buy the rest of Elf's studio line blushes but instead my friend sent me a text and I had to check it out, I mean come on who doesn't listen to their makeup geek friends? Haha. Anyways, I feel this is far off than an actual blush. I think it would look so nice on a darker skin tone person than a lighter skin because there is pink in the shade so I feel the pink would pop on a darker skin tone. I also didn't like how rough the product felt. This product applies way better with fingers than a brush. I tend to use brushes more because I clean my face before and after using makeup which this made another con for me because it felt to me as if I was wasting my face cleaners from me touching my face. Has anyone else dealt with a similar problem?
Above is a picture of the product applied in a swatch when I didn't use water and when I did. As you can see this has gorgeous pigmentation which upsets me considering it would have been brilliant for elf to come up with such an amazing baked blush with a super hot pink or deep mauve pink with this much pigmentation. The product when not wet came off more like a gold highlight which is absolutely stunning. When the product comes off wet, you can see more of the pink which turns this stunning gold highlighter into a rose gold highlight which knocked me off my feet with how gorgeous it was... but unfortunately I was looking forward to buying a blush not another highlighter.. Sorry.
**OVERALL REVIEW/INFORMATION**Rate 7/10
Where to buy? Walmart, Target, www.eyeslipsface.com (ELF'S Website), Drugstore.com, Amazon.com
Price? $3.00
Worth it? In my own honest opinion yes and no. Why yes? Well if you can't afford a highlighter from let's say a higher drugstore brand or even a brand like MAC this would totally be a great dupe for some of those highlighters and has an amazing pigmentation. Why no? Because if you were looking for a baked blush this wouldn't be a total hit because it comes off more like a highlighter and it would also be a waste of money considering there are a lot of baked blushes out there that don't normally come out looking like a highlighter.
I hope you all enjoyed my blog nonetheless. Comment down below if you like me blogging more? I am so happy to be back and typing up whatever my brain wonders too. I hope you all have an amazing rest of your evening. Until next time, Stay Beautiful. Xoxo.
